Aston Carter Junior Billing Analyst in Owings Mills, Maryland
Job Title: Billing AnalystJob Description
Perform billing functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with team members to share knowledge of billing systems. Participate in projects involving analysis, testing, product and procedural development, internal training, and project implementation. Offer business and technical support, and escalate identified risks. Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and client inquiries related to financial products.
Responsibilities
Provide consultation, recommendations, or resolutions for both internal and external clients.
Escalate potential/current risks identified through documentation.
Participate as a key contributor in cross-functional initiatives and client inquiries.
Apply expertise to support new initiatives and client requests.
Resolve issues or challenges related to financial products through problem-solving and root cause analysis.
Support functional teams to understand system and contractual requirements and limitations.
Identify system issues and submit IT incidents and PEERS for resolution.
Work with the billing team to identify and scope process or technology improvement opportunities.
Perform monthly billing audits to ensure data accuracy.
Validate calculations on changes in unit transactions and adjustments.
Conduct threshold audits for accuracy of charges.
Participate in internal and external audits for billing accuracy.
Be on-call during monthly bill runs to validate PDF outputs for selected client units.
Identify inaccuracies or potential errors to IT.
Compile data of monthly bill runs for analysis.
Analyze data for defects and upload results to the balanced scorecard dashboard for business reporting.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in accounting, excel, data entry, and reconciliation.
Strong Excel skills, including VLookups.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience.
Strong organizational skills and project management capabilities.
General business knowledge and excellent financial knowledge.
Proper judgment in decision making, self-reliance, and problem resolution.
Ability to implement and adapt to change effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to influence others with diplomacy.
Excellent customer service and relationship skills.
Strong PC proficiency, including Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management software (Visio, MS Project).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to ask probing questions, gather data, and identify options or solutions to problems.
Work Environment
Hybrid work schedule with three days in Owings Mills (Tuesday - Thursday) and remote work on Monday and Friday.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
