Intermountain Health Laundry Aide in Panguitch, Utah
Job Description:
This position is responsible for the handling od soiled laundry and processing that laundry through a series of steps to clean and disinfect. They will also sort, fold and run laundry machines in processing the linen. Additionally, they will also distribute the clean linen throughout the care site.
Essential Functions
Collect soiled linen through the care site and return it to the laundry room for processing
Loads and unloads washing machines
Operates the washing machine and additional machines used in processing the laundry
Sorts and fold linen to be placed on linen carts or in storage areas
Accurately weigh in and out all hospital owned linen, mops, etc. and record weights in a timely manner
Deliver linen to units throughout the care site in a timely manner
Deliver on demand requested linen as needed
Provide cleaning duties as needed based on staffing, patient loads, and time constraints

Qualifications
Demonstrated communication skills to include following written and/or verbal directions
Ability to work a flexible schedule and to meet the needs of the department and care site
Demonstrated experience in work related to inventory or linen/laundry (preferred)
Physical Requirements
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs
Frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
