Pre & Post trip Inspection-DVIR (legal document)
Completion of paper trip report with gas receipts attached)
No cell phone use unless using a handsfree device
No texting and driving
Obey all speed limits
Know where your inspection sticker is and make sure it is in date
Know where your insurance card and registration are located
Know where the fire extinguisher is located/and is it bolted down
Know where your spare fuses are located
Roadside inspections: All paperwork up to date
Weigh Station-if open, you must stop-All DVIR, Logbooks and ELOG must be up to date
Keep FMSCA pocketbook in truck
- Responsible for general truck maintenance
- Required to train and learn ELOGS -Motive
Signing in and out of App
Pre and post trip inspection
Codriving when training
Using exceptions during adverse weather
Yard moves
Taking 30 min break within 8 hrs
- Required to inspect truck equipment before and after delivery and maintain in Motive as well as written form
- Required to report any truck issues daily to the Transportation Manager
- Verifies load against shipping papers
- Required to report any overage, shorts, discrepancies to transportation manager
- Required to drive vehicle to specified hub location and off load upon arrival: Some locations require key codes to enter or exit along with special instruction for locking up
- Required to maintain contact and communicate with designated persons affiliated with the hub, ie. Hub Manager. Conduct any necessary communication with them to assure completeness of delivery
- Required to verify the count vs Smith Manifest and return with signed route manifest as well as any previous days customer manifests, return logs, etc.
- Required to know how to use load locks and straps to secure pallets in truck
- Required to use a hand jack to load and unload pallets of totes on and off truck
- Required to be able to do heavy lifting occasionally
- Required to be responsible for use of a fuel card and company credit card
- Required to keep truck clean and picked up (others may be driving your truck at times)
- Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions
- All other duties assigned
