POSITION SUMMARY:

MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO KEEP UP WITH A VERY FAST PACED CLINIC!!

The Receptionists, under the supervision of the office manager, are responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients as well as coordinating patient registration, scheduling and other front office tasks.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a commitment to the Ponderosa Family Care mission and philosophy of care.
  • Must be a strong communicator, have excellent written, oral communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to think creatively and strategically, have excellent judgment and be able to work in a changing environment.
  • Must be able to trouble shoot and solve problems creatively.
  • Must be able to work independently with a high level of self motivation and time management, effectively prioritizing tasks and maintaining effective workflow.
  • Must be proficient in computer operations and utilization of electronic medical records.
  • Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations.
  • Must possess good organizational skills and the ability to work under stress.
  • Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
  • Acts as a point of contact for all visitors and patients, providing a high level of customer service
  • Verify eligibility and personal information for each patient visit to the clinic; updating the EMR system per clinic policy
  • Check patients into and out of the clinic for various appointments
  • Verify patient insurance information and collection of insurance co-pays
  • Schedules and confirms patient appointments
  • Scans documents and maintains an accurate electronic medical record for patients
  • Maintains security by following procedures; monitoring patient flow
  • Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
  • Trains and oversees volunteers in the area of clerical support
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned by the office manager or executive director

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • The ability to stand for long periods of time, push, pull and reach, occasionally bend, sit, stoop and stretch
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and medical equipment
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: \$18.50-19.50 per hour
