The Role: Market Analyst – Hydrogen and Renewable Gas
The Team: S&P Global Commodity Insights is the leading provider of Clean Technology & Renewables data and insight. The Clean Energy Technology team is currently looking to recruit a market analyst focused on hydrogen and renewable gas in Penang, Malaysia to support its rapidly growing and successful team, which is located across various locations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
The Impact: The successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills and be keen to work as part of a global team, developing knowledge of the cleantech, renewable energy, and hydrogen industries. They will develop valuable relationships with existing and potential clients, and produce high quality data and reports to support the critical business decisions of our customers.
What’s in it for you: The individual will be a key contributor to the global Clean Energy Technology team, and will support clients by providing detailed market data, research and insight to customers ranging from global energy giants to innovative technology start-ups. They will focus on the emerging market for low-emissions hydrogen and renewable gas, developing deep expertise on technology trends, the competitive environment, business models, policy and supply chains. They will apply that knowledge to analysis and research initiatives, including updating datasets and producing reports and presentations.
Responsibilities:
Collect, manage and analyze market data to track and identify trends, policies, stakeholders, projects, and technology developments in the hydrogen and renewable gas market
Create high quality market reports analyzing the status and outlook for hydrogen and renewable gas
Work with both a global team align data and forecasts and co-ordinate viewpoints
Support client inquiries and requests by providing answers to questions about datasets and research findings
What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will have established knowledge of clean hydrogen and a keen interest in the clean energy and clean technology sectors. Prior experience of working in a research analyst role, as well both English and Chinese (Mandarin) language skills are also highly valued.
Ideal:
Knowledge of the emerging hydrogen industry, including relevant technologies and use cases
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills, including competency with Excel
Fluent in English

Ability to learn quickly and multi-task
Ability to work in a diverse, global team
Ability to understand technical and economic concepts related to hydrogen
Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin)
