Christian Brothers' House -- Anselm Hall Community is seeking a Part-Time (25 hours per week; 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) Cook.
Essential Duties
Management of the Kitchen area:
- The Cook is immediately accountable for the performance of his/her responsibilities which include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- To serve as the dinner Cook on a daily basis, Monday thru Friday.
- Prepare the dinner, which includes clean up after dinner.
- Prepare meals for special events as directed.
- To shop and purchase food for dinner meals.
- Prepare Menus and Meals in coordination with the Lunch cook.
- Place leftovers in Tupperware and place in refrigerator or freezer
- Make or provide desserts for meals served.
Other Work Areas:
- Clean and maintain Kitchen refrigerators, freezers, stoves, ovens and grills
- Clean, dry and properly store all pots, pans, dishes, silverware, cups, glasses and any other items used in the provision of meals served.
- Clean countertops.
- Remove trash to collection area and replace liners.
Sweep Kitchen area daily.
General Activities:
- Perform other duties as assigned, either by the Director or his designee.
- Informs the Director when Kitchen supplies are needed.
- Observe and report what needs repair and replacement and cleaning beyond in-house capabilities.
Clean and maintain equipment and report broken, worn, inadequate equipment to the Director
Secondary Responsibilities
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Submit all receipts for reimbursement.
- Observe safety regulations and policies.
- Cooperate with employer and other employees and with other members of the Anselm Hall Community.
- Report all accidents and injuries to the Director or another Brother of the community promptly and cooperate in the investigation and preparation of accident forms and reports
- Maintain security of Kitchen by safeguarding keys and reporting their loss promptly.
- Perform other duties, as assigned and as required for the cleanliness, orderliness, and security of the Kitchen.
Give two-week's notice, prior to resignation.

- High-school or Equivalent
- At least two (2) years' job related experience
- Competence in the use of ordinary kitchen utensils and equipment
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Be able to use own vehicle for shopping

- To stoop, kneel, and bend
- To push, pull and lift, material and equipment
- To work in a service-oriented environment subject to frequently changing priorities
Understand and comply with verbal instructions
