FANNIE MAE Modeling Risk Management Senior Associate (Flexible Hybrid) in Plano, Texas
Job Description The Modeling Risk Management Senior Associate (Flexible Hybrid) will join the Model Governance Solutions (MGS) team. The MGS team has responsibility to drive efficiency, consistency, compliance, and sustainability in first-line model governance activities across the enterprise, and has the following three strategic objectives:
Driving efficienciesin model management by developing clear and actionable governance, integrating relevant external guidance, and developing tools that simplify processes.
Ensuring risk-based execution and compliance of all internal model-related standards and policies by training, reporting, and monitoring applicable processes.
Acting as a representativewith Model Risk Management and other relevant stakeholders on behalf of Model Owners, Users, Developers, and Application Owners

The Modeling Risk Management Senior Associate (Flexible Hybrid) role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
Working with teams in providing innovative, thorough, and practical solutions that support business strategies and initiatives.
Identifying opportunities to apply quantitative and/or qualitative methods to improve business performance.
Applying advanced skill, knowledge, and/or experience while working in teams to complete modeling projects aligned with established company policies and industry-wide modeling practices.
Contribute to assessing the risk of models, to interpret model results, monitor performance, and assess risks
Communicate technical subject matter clearly and concisely to department leadership and teams.
Support business partners with the execution of model governance compliance
Participating with teams to support closure of model governance-related critical supervisory matters, matters requiring attention, management self-identified, and all other issues.
Performing review of model governance requirements, including documentation, to ensure applicable requirements are met.
Identifying, scope, and execute on process improvements.
Facilitating information requests and related reporting activities across various stakeholders.
Maintaining information and processes to reduce risk using rigorous analysis.
Individually perform or partner with team members to obtain resolutions to outstanding items and follow up on deliverables.
Maintaining status with relevant industry and regulatory standards, best practices, and business processes used in model risk management.
Determine business areas that pose potential risks to the enterprise.
Evaluate the impact of proposed risks to the enterprise.
Monitor and report on information and processes to reduce risk using rigorous analysis.
Document and report on resolutions and control guidelines.
Partner with the team to review business strategies, and make decisions that will drive success in the face of shifting consumer behaviors and regulations.
Qualifications THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Required Experiences
- 2+ years of relevant model governance, controls, compliance, risk management or program governance experience
Skills
Experience gathering accurate information to explain concepts and answer critical questions
Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand
Relationship Management including managing and engaging stakeholders, customers, and vendors, building relationship networks, contracting, etc.
Risk Assessment and Management including evaluating and designing controls, conducting impact assessments, identifying control gaps, remediating risk, etc.
Governance and Compliance including creating policies, evaluating compliance, conducting internal investigations, developing data governance, etc.
Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work toward a common goal
Influencing including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict
Experience helping an organization to plan and manage change in effort to meet strategic objectives
Experience in the process of analyzing data to identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data
Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion
Tools
Experience using RiskWorks
Experience using SharePoint
Skilled in Excel
Desired Experiences
Bachelor degree or equivalent
Experience with quantitative models and experience supporting a team of model developers, users and owners.
Prior experience working on projects and meeting deadlines
Track record of execution focus, strong prioritization, and planning capabilities
Relationship management skills to partner with team members and collaborate with stakeholders as needed
Understanding of risk management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex processes in business terms
Be a self-starter with strong organizational, prioritization, and planning skills
Skilled in Excel Word, and ; PowerPoint
Governance and compliance experience including creating policies, evaluating compliance, etc.
Understanding of and or experience in Financial Services and or the Banking industry
Experience in Governance and Compliance including creating policies, evaluating compliance, developing data governance, etc.
Comfortable working in a dynamic and ever evolving environment.
Ability to work independently, but also comfortable working and contributing within a team environment
Knowledge of the mortgage industry
Track record of identifying and implementing process improvements in day-to-day activities
Comfortable learning computer applications
Certificate or designation in Risk Management
Knowledge of JIRA and Power-BI a plus
