The University of Vermont Health Network - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital Medical Lab Technician - Lab-Microbiology in Plattsburgh, New York

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Assists the Laboratory Supervisor in achieving efficient Laboratory operation by performing clinical tests. Supports laboratory testing services by performing specimen collection and processing, quality control and maintenance functions, and results reporting and verification. Participates in training and in-service programs to maintain and upgrade competency at the level required by the Supervisor as procedures are changed or added.


EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Licensed or eligible (application pending with a limited license in effect) as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in the State of New York.
2. Employees with a limited license must obtain full license within New York State guidelines.
3. Upon 5 years' experience as a Medical Lab Technician and upon meeting qualifying criteria, the Medical Lab Technician may move to the Medical Laboratory Technician II level.
4. Chemistry and/or Hematology experience required. However, if no qualified candidate with Chemistry and/or Hematology experience, then others will be considered.As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.

SIGN ON BONUS:

We are offering to eligible candidates a $6,000 sign on bonus. Certain conditions apply. Subject to applicable tax withholdings.

RELOCATION:

Eligible candidates will receive a relocation package of up to $9,200. Additional terms and conditions apply.
