Job Title: Engineering Intern
Department: Engineering
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: The Engineering Intern will support manufacturing and operations teams in process improvement, machine cycle time studies, and documentation management. This internship provides hands-on experience in optimizing production processes and maintaining manufacturing documentation.
Responsibilities:
Support process improvement initiatives, including time studies and cycle time analysis.
Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing documentation, such as work instructions and Bills of Materials (BOM).
Assist in coordinating cross-departmental projects and help implement new manufacturing processes.
Analyze production data and provide actionable insights to enhance efficiency and safety.
Collaborate with engineering teams to implement best practices in production and process development.
Competencies:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and organizational ability.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Education and/or Experience
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Background Prerequisites:
- Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
