Operations Technician (SPC Harris)
Plant Harris Combined Cycle Plant E.B. Harris Generating Facility, a combined cycle plant located in Prattville, AL, is currently seeking candidates for the position of Operations Technician. The selected candidate for this position will be responsible for operating and maintaining a combined cycle power plant.
JOB SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for operating combined cycle units, monitoring, troubleshooting, performing maintenance and repair of all electrical & mechanical power plant equipment. This is a multi-crafted position that has the responsibility of performing various other duties that are expected; these include project management and system ownership assignment. The selected candidate must be able to work a rotating day and night shift schedule that includes coverage on weekends and holidays.
Job Experience
Previous power plant, turbine, or boiler experience is preferred.
Gas turbine or combined cycle experience is a plus.
Electrical and mechanical experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong electrical & mechanical aptitude is required.
Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical & mechanical equipment is required.
General proficiency in using computer applications, i.e. Microsoft Office products is required.
Experience in Maximo work order management system is a plus.
An associate’s technical degree in electrical/instrumentation field is a plus.
Behavioral Attributes
This position requires excellent communication, problem solving skills, and participation in a team-oriented environment.
An Operations Technician must have the ability to handle complex and high-pressure situations.
An Operations Technician must be a self-starter.
