Groundskeeping Crew Member

Reports to:
- Crew Foreman
- Groundskeeping Manager
Route and Daily Duties:
- Aid in the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the AM and PM.
- Cut grass, trim edges, clean up debris, blow trimmings, fertilize and water turf areas and perform other lawn care duties as directed by foreman.
- Assist in maintaining garden beds at designated locations as directed by the crew foreman.
- Assist in maintaining irrigation systems at designated locations as directed by the crew foreman.
- Move and install soil, mulch and plant material to assist with the construction of landscape gardens and related areas.
- Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn tractors, zero-turn mowers, walk behind lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, chain saws, and snow blowers.
- Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Conduct daily tasks assigned by the foreman or management in an efficient manner.
- Assist foreman in other work-related duties including construction projects, shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Report any issues or damage to equipment, company property or client property to the crew foreman.
Personal Duties:
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Always wear the required uniform items daily and comply with RSI uniform standards.
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform, report any damaged items to the crew foreman for replacement.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations.
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations.
- Comply with all RSI cell phone policies.
- Communicate with clients in a polite and courteous manner.
- Always respect client property and privacy.
- Maintain situational awareness, ensure all work is being conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
Work Schedule:
- Monday -- Thursday: (March -- October)
- 7 am -- 5pm.
- End time is day and workload dependent. 5pm is not a guaranteed end time and some days run longer than 10 hours.
- All assigned tasks from the crew foreman and management are to be completed daily prior to leaving.

- Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner.
- Effective communication skills -- must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, complete simple reports, report progress to foreman.
- Time management skills.
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices.
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Reliable transportation to and from work daily (Monday -- Thursday).
- One year experience in the landscape/construction industry is desired but not mandatory.
