Actalent Assistant Superintendent in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Title: Assistant SuperintendentJob Description

We are a leading general contractor in the Southeast, specializing in a wide range of construction services including planning, pre-construction, construction management, design-build, renovation, and new construction. We work on projects across various sectors such as education, healthcare, industrial, and biotechnology. We are seeking an Assistant Superintendent to assist the Superintendent in overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects. This role involves coordinating workers, materials, and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and maintaining project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Superintendent in planning, managing, and implementing project schedules to meet deadlines.

  • Coordinate and supervise construction workers and subcontractors.

  • Select tools, materials, and equipment, and track inventory.

  • Monitor work for compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and standards.

  • Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, and work rules.

  • Document violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.

  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure adherence to contract specifications and building codes.

  • Participate in meetings to discuss construction progress and project scheduling.

  • Maintain project documentation and daily logs.

  • Assist in resolving any issues that may arise during the construction process.

Essential Skills

  • Construction supervision and management.

  • Experience with commercial construction.

  • Proficiency in using Procore and other construction management software.

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, means, and methods.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management or a similar role.

  • OSHA 30 certification.

Work Environment

The work environment involves working onsite at various construction sites. It requires the ability to navigate through a construction site, including climbing ladders and scaffolding. The role may require extended hours and occasional weekend work to meet project deadlines. The dress code typically includes appropriate safety gear such as hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
