The CoStar Finance department is looking for a Business Analyst, Billing Operations who will perform critical data analysis and process support related to billing and contracts on a daily and monthly basis. This individual will work on the Billing Operations team, providing structured data, quantitative insights, and project leadership to drive business results. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with internal and external partners to gather process requirements and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contract review and validation for completeness
Research and resolve complex pricing issues
Develop, create and run data-driven processes in support of billing and contract operations
Design QC queries and lead daily QA process for assigned portfolio
Track KPIs, develop dashboards and present metrics
Identify billing process deficiencies and develop corrective action plans
Effectively lead available resources and Billing Specialists; provide direction, prioritization and allocate billing workload to bring issues to completion
Develop, audit, and improve process documentation around new and existing billing/contract process
Create user guides for internal partners
Promote a data-driven organization and empower teams with actionable data and with automated and intuitive, reliable reports and KPI dashboards
Create data sets in SQL from existing company applications and/or ETL scripts to optimize billing process
Liaise with internal technology team and external third-party providers to identify and troubleshoot system bugs while optimizing process efficiency opportunities
Lead and build ad hoc reporting requests; aid in user acceptance testing as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, computer science, or related
2+ years’ experience in systems support for billing, AR and/or finance department within large dynamic corporate environment
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to analyze data, interpret information and trends in large amounts of data to develop actionable recommendations
Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Organized thinker and excellent communicator, verbal and in writing – customer service focused with a history of working successfully with both financial and non-finance professionals
An analytical business background, problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and high attention to detail
Able to prioritize effectively, and to balance multiple projects and daily/weekly process expectations with concurrent deadlines
Hands on experience using BI platforms & data warehouse tools, e.g.: Power BI, SQL
Proficiency writing and working with SQL scripts and MS Access processes, advanced skills manipulating and preparing data in Excel
Ability to train colleagues to write basic SQL scripts+ Experience with Oracle
