Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a talented and experienced Database Administrator to join our Enterprise Platform team in support of our higher education client in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality solutions and services to support the growth and success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the performance, security, and availability of SQL Server databases (2016-2022).
Design and manage databases to meet business needs.
Oversee database technologies, including replication, clustering, and high availability.
Create and manage database objects like tables and indexes.
Ensure data integrity and consistency with regular monitoring and backups.
Optimize database performance through query analysis and adjustments.
Implement security measures and manage user permissions.
Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
Develop and support disaster recovery plans.
Collaborate with development and cross-functional teams on database changes.
Provide technical support and advice to users.
Stay updated with industry knowledge and train team members.
Document database design, configuration, and operations.
Manage data connections to Oracle sources using Open -Query commands.
This position will be primarily remote but candidates residing in a 2-hour radius is extremely preferred. The target pay rate for this position is between $45-55/hr and based on experience.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
3-5 years of experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server instances and databases.
Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Familiarity with team communication, collaboration, and video conferencing tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365, Slack, Zoom, Cisco WebEx). - Oracle querying and admin experience
- Experience with ETL from multiple sources
- Front End development skills
- MySQL, Maria DB, and/orPostgreSQL admin experience null
