Our client is a global, research-driven pharmaceutical focusing on treatment options for diseases and conditions for which there is no satisfactory treatment option to date. 1 Year Contract Assignment
Pay: 26/hr.
The Logistics Coordinator will play a critical role in coordinating the shipment of development samples and clinical trial supplies between Boehringer Ingelheim and CDMOs (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations) across the globe. This role requires managing logistics relationships, ensuring compliance with import/export regulations, and overseeing the dispatch, tracking, and delivery of shipments. The coordinator will maintain a secure and transparent logistics network, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the shipment of development samples and clinical trial supplies between company sites and CDMOs, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to best practices.
Lead and manage relationships with logistics service providers to ensure smooth operations and compliance with both internal and external requirements.
Ensure all shipments comply with import/export regulations and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Take ownership of the shipment dispatch process, tracking deliveries, and providing regular updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
Proactively address any transport delays (e.g., customs clearance issues) and intervene as necessary, ensuring timely communication of any issues.
Maintain and organize the department’s logistics SharePoint folder, ensuring all shipping documentation (customs invoices, packing lists, temperature logger data, end-use letters, etc.) is accurately archived for each shipment.
Identify potential areas of improvement in logistics processes, and recommend and implement best practices to optimize efficiency.
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics and service providers to ensure high-performance standards.
Continuously raise improvement ideas to support the development of a robust, transparent, and secure logistics network.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a relevant discipline preferred.
Minimum 8 years of experience in logistics, transportation, import/export, cold-chain, or other supply chain functions, preferably within a regulated industry such as bio/pharmaceuticals.
Proven experience managing logistics activities in high-performing global teams.
Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to problem-solve and drive positive change in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage urgent situations with a bias toward quick, effective problem-solving.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a dynamic, pragmatic approach to working across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Additional Skills & Competencies:
Expertise in handling logistics for regulated industries, with knowledge of compliance, import/export requirements, and temperature-sensitive shipments.
Ability to maintain a detail-oriented, organized approach in managing documentation and shipping records.
