Brief Job Overview

The Microsoft 365 Engineer will be responsible for providing education, training. administration, technical support and troubleshooting for Microsoft 365 applications and services. The M365 Engineer will work with vendors, including Microsoft, on product training, implementation of new products or features, licensing, and general support.

This includes training in inclusive management styles and other competencies necessary to ensure engaged and productive work environments.

The M365 Engineer has the following responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain USP M365 governance policy.

  • Administer and manage Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and other related applications.

  • Create sharepoint and Teams sites.

  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security for M365 products.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for M365-related issues.

  • Manage user accounts, licenses, and permissions.

  • Perform regular system audits and generate reports.

  • Stay updated with the latest M365 features and updates on all user products.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for M365 configurations and procedures.

  • Train and support end-users on M365 tools and best practices, particularly around new AI functionality in products such as with Microsoft copilot and Teams Premium.

  • Regularly work with vendors regarding M365 products and potential integrations.

  • Plan and facilitate various pilot programs with Microsoft products.

  • Provide expert consultation of M365 desktop products.

  • Research and update on other M365 related products, MS file share as an example.

  • Other activities to support use of M365 products within the organization.

Who is USP Looking For?

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Microsoft 365 Product Support Specialist or similar role.

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and administration.

  • Familiarity with security and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft’s AI (Copilot) toolset.

  • Intune endpoint management including MDM, MAM, and application packaging.

  • Working knowledge of core Microsoft security tools included with ME3/5.

Additional Desired Preferences

  • ITIL knowledge or

  • Service now

  • Proven experience as a Microsoft 365 Administrator or similar role.

Compensation

Base Salary Range: USD $85,500.00 – $111,250.00 annually.

Target Annual Bonus: % Varies based on level of role.

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate’s skill set, experience, qualifications, equity, and other job-related reasons.
