Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking an Entry Level Traction Power Engineer, that is highly motivated, talented and hardworking as an addition to our growing team in our world class transit systems practice in the New England area . This unique and exciting position offers the opportunity to work in an established practice that offers great growth opportunities, while receiving support from global system practices which leads the nation in transit systems design. This position will work within our New England Transit Group and can work out of one of our regional offices.
Daily responsibilities and duties:
Will conceptualize traction power designs by preparing design drawings and documents.
Will create technical specifications, cost estimates, proposals, calculations, and studies associated with traction power systems for electrified railways systems running on either AC or DC power.
Will apply technical knowledge of basic elements of power engineering as it relates to train systems.
Ability to exercise good judgement on details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptions of engineering alternatives.
Will communicate with others to support business development opportunities.
Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Will creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Will collect and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Will use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Will perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and /or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship in transit and rail industry

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $65,182.45 - $90,000.00.
