Responsible for all work relating to all types of trades, such as maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, welding, preventive maintenance and equipment repair. Performs skilled and unskilled work for several crafts. Performs duties and responsibilities at locations separated from RRMC as necessary and all other duties as required.

Essential Functions:

Construct custom cabinetry, furniture, fixtures, shelving, counter tops, laminate work.

Build and install finished products.

Remove, construct, and install, as needed, all types of wall structures such as sheet rock, plaster, metal partition, wood/metal studs, as well as doors, door frames, window assemblies, floor coverings, cove base, ceiling systems, cabinetry, counter tops, and all finish carpentry (spackle, trim, etc.).

Coordinate with other trade groups, working as a team or independently as required.

Smooth and prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding and removing old paint. Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty, plaster, or other filler. Tape, float, and texture walls and ceilings. Select premixed paints or mix required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint to match specified colors. Paint surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers, and apply paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects. Stain, seal, and varnish wood surfaces.

Repairs doors, door closures, locks, tables, chairs and other furniture or equipment.

Repairs plumbing fixtures, including unstopping commodes, drains, steam traps and sewer lines, cleaning of grease traps and repairing leaking faucets.

Performs preventive maintenance on various types of hospital equipment.

Replaces light bulbs, ballasts, switches, cords and fuses.

Greases and oils machinery.

Maintains and repairs various appliances and equipment throughout the hospital.

Minimum EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred Vocational/Technical certification preferred

Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Computer: Microsoft Office

Minimum Work ExperienceSpecialized training, good mechanical skills preferred.Good verbal and written skills preferred.Minimum 1-2 years experience preferred.
