Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Sr. Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate thrives on challenges and will possess an exceptional ability to analyze project plans and specifications, accurately estimate costs, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful bid submissions, leveraging their deep understanding of construction processes, contracts, and negotiation tactics with vendors and subcontractors. Expertise in securing and managing local, state, and government construction projects is crucial. A commitment to adopting existing processes while identifying and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy is essential. Responsibilities Review and interpret project plans, drawings, contracts, and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required. Prepare detailed take-off quantities, pricing, and bid proposals while maintaining accuracy and competitiveness. Collaboration and Communication: coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate pricing and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Compile critical data and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating terms to achieve the best value for the firm. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to each project. Conduct site visits to assess conditions that may impact project costs or timelines. Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, pricing changes, and new materials or technologies that may affect estimating practices. Qualifications 5+ years proven progressive experience in commercial and/or public works construction estimating. Strong knowledge of construction management principles and best practices. Familiarity with contract negotiation processes. Proficient in using Xactimate. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Experience in cost control measures within construction projects is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently.
