Job Title: Maintenance Electrician
Job Description
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the safe maintenance, service, and repair of the machinery and equipment located in the Plant. This role involves performing specific duties regularly, recording activities and observations regarding the condition of machinery, and assisting operators with equipment issues. The position also entails ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory codes and standards, while managing safety, quality, and food safety on all product lines.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot complex control systems consisting of PLCs, VFDs, servos, HMIs, instrumentation devices, and communication networks.
Diagnose sources of trouble in operating equipment and perform proper repair or replacement procedures.
Properly perform LOTO procedures in isolating and de-energizing equipment and systems to be worked on.
Identify and eliminate or report unsafe conditions in the Plant and perform all tasks in a safety-conscious manner.
Assist operators in the operation of equipment when problems arise.
Upgrade skills and knowledge of Plant systems, equipment, and components as directed or required.
Essential Skills
Troubleshooting
Maintenance technician experience
Repair and preventive maintenance skills
PLC troubleshooting
Industrial experience, ideally within food and beverage manufacturing
Electrical troubleshooting
Equipment maintenance
Mechanical aptitude
HVAC installation
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
At least 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Electrician
Electrical aptitude and skill set as evaluated by the Maintenance Manager
Experience in high volume manufacturing is ideal
Familiarity with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) environment
Ability to fix issues at the root cause rather than applying temporary solutions
Experience with 5S Audits and organization

This is a chocolate manufacturing company operating in a GMP environment, where the air smells like chocolate. The facility runs the full process of creating chocolate, from roasting beans to packaging. The working conditions include various physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lying down, reaching, handling, lifting, and more. Employees work in confined spaces, areas with low clearance, high places, and uneven surfaces. Good near vision is required for the job.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of San Leandro, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $83449.60 - $96595.20/yr.
This is a unionized position: $100 initiation which is spread across first 10 paychecks, union dues are $49/month.
Benefits are 100% paid for the individual and family - Kaiser for medical.

This is a fully onsite position in San Leandro,CA.
