  1. Qualifications you'll bring:

  • Degree or Equivalent: In 3rd or 4th year of college with a focus on digital communications or related field such as marketing or advertising.
  • Experience in digital marketing/social media marketing.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Interest in storytelling.
  • Internet research skills.
  • Experience with major social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram.
  • Familiarity of content management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • This role involves attending offsite events within the Capital Region to capture engaging content and videos for social media platforms. Candidates should be prepared for occasional travel and flexible hours to accommodate event schedules.
  1. Your key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop posts that fit the strategy of informing, increasing brand recognition and engagement.
  • Brainstorm and research ideas for original content.
  • Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms, including writing copy, captions, developing graphics and contributing video.
  • Assist with post tracking including tagging and organizing in calendar.
  • Support marketing team at live and online events capturing content including video.
  • Bring forward current trends for consideration.
  • Perform social media marketing research and identify trends or best practices.
  • Assist on influencer strategy build.
  • Monitor various social media platforms.
  • Respond to comments and DMs maintaining brand voice and tone.
  • Provide suggestions to management for improving customer experience on social platforms.
  • Assist with performance reporting.

Where you'll be:

Hybrid; Schenectady, NY - with occasional travel and flexible hours to accommodate Captial Region event schedules.
