Providence St. Joseph Health Physical Therapist in Seattle, Washington

Description GENERAL SUMMARY The Physical Therapist (PT) is a member of the interdisciplinary team that provides direct clinical services to the Swedish Pain Services (SPS) including the outpatient "Functional Restoration" center and hospital-based "Pain Management" suite. The SPS Functional Restoration Center provides outpatient comprehensive interdisciplinary pain management including behavioral health, physical and occupational therapy, and structured functional restoration programs (SFRP). Formal structured functional restoration programs include outpatient individual and group-based physical and occupational therapy, behavioral health (cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness training), relaxation training, aerobic exercise, nursing education, and pain medicine provided on site by a team of therapists. Program sessions are 4-5 hours per day, 3 days per week, for 4 weeks. Additional follow up and long term care may be also provided. Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. Washington state physical therapy license, or temporary permit Upon hire: Washington Physical Therapist License Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association Strong understanding of bio psychosocial model of chronic pain Ability to learn and/or integrate the latest concepts of Pain Neuroscience Education into treatment plans Strong orthopedic background Highly developed interpersonal, and counseling skills required. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple demands and projects. Ability to work with a diverse patient and staff population. Ability to work effectively with groups. Ability to develop cooperative relationships with families, patients, physicians and other health care professionals within and outside Swedish. Ability to work in different settings as required by system needs. Preferred Qualifications: Women's health continuing education or certification experience Pain Neuroscience continuing education or certification as therapeutic pain specialist Graduation from accredited DPT program Experience in ortho, neuro, cancer, cardiac or other designated specialty populations based on campus needs.
