DETAILS of PERSON SUPPORTED:
A very sociable and caring woman in the Sharon Hill area is looking for an ideal staff to assist with activities of daily living and to support her everyday life in the home with her father and out in the community. She is a big music 60s-70s music fan and is very kindhearted. This woman's days typically involve at least one trip to the gym each shift, followed by whatever else she wanted to do within a 3 hour period. These activities outside of the gym typically include making food with staff's guidance (sometimes stopping somewhere for a bite to eat or a drink to sip on), rides to different churches and spending time with her father back at her house. She also might want to go on trips to places such as the shore, the Camden Aquarium or to New York City (specifically Strawberry Fields in Central Park as she is a big fan of the Beatles!), and staff has helped out with these trips to ensure safe transportation/supervision and a fun time to be had. The ideal staff will be able to multitask, organize and participate in this woman's preferred activities. We are looking for a supports partner who is outgoing, energetic, sociable and patient, who will ensure that this woman lives her best, safe and happy everyday life. Additionally ideal staff will be able to do light work outs at the gym (or at least Supervise while she is exercising) and is open to taking her to different places she might want to go visit.
We know not everyone who finds themselves upon this job posting will fit exactly what is described above. However, if you share in our mission and vision of full civil rights, inclusion, and self-determination for ALL people, including those with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, we encourage you to apply.
