DESCRIPTION:
MC Fastening Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to oversee multiple projects at various stages of projects, from feasibility and concept development through to installation. This will include but not limited to projects around our current and expending product portfolio of hand held and fixture torqueing tools (nut runners) and Servo press-fit systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to ensure project success by continuously monitoring project timelines and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications
Design and develop mechanical components and systems for fastening and press applications
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analyses for proposed projects
Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to define project requirements and deliverables
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation
Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing systems and equipment
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed
Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and industry trends
Operate as the project lead for internal and external resources for the seamless integration of electronics, controls and mechanical aspects

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
5+ of related experience in the industry or field
Proven experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in fastening and press systems
Experience with inventory and ERP software
Ability to work independently and within project teams
Self-motivated and responsible
Prior experience in a similar role is preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job operates mainly indoors, in an office setting, handling administrative tasks related to office management, supplies, and equipment. This position will require the supporting activities throughout the United States and Canada with some interactions with suppliers in Japan.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This job requires very frequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, standing, speaking and hearing and frequent kneeling. Repetitive use of the hands, squeezing, keyboarding and crouching. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of 1-10 pounds, recurrent lifting of 11-20 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of 21-50 or more pounds. Also requires constant pushing and pulling of 1-50 pounds and infrequent pushing and pulling of over 50 pounds with the aid of handcarts or other wheeled devices. Good visual and color acuity are a must to perform this type of job.
