Continental Tactical Category Manager - Purchasing NPM in Shinagawa City, Japan

Responsible for managing Purchasing activities in the area of Indirect / Non-production Materials (NPM) within the Continental Tire Purchasing Organization for Japan and South Korea.
In collaboration with Regional & Global Continental Purchasing teams, the main objective is to establish best commercial conditions while optimizing a supplier base through aggregation of spend and common strategies. Implement optimal sourcing solutions across a mix of NPM categories, which includes but not limited to Facilities, HR, Marketing, IT, Freight & Logistics, and other Corporate & Professional Services.
In addition, act as the main local Purchasing point of contact to help educate stakeholders around compliance to Continental Purchasing rules, policy, and processes.
The TCM is responsible for, but not limited to:
Partner with Strategic Category Managers to help execute category strategies; end to end strategic sourcing/RFP activities; negotiations; leading & influencing stakeholders.
Be an advocate and help drive compliance in line with Purchasing policy and all other company policies & procedures and applicable legislations.
Identify short- & long-term cost-out opportunities and meet or exceed annual savings targets.
Champion the use of Continental Purchasing tools which includes but not limited to Supplier Performance Management (SPM), Supplier Due Diligence (SCOUT), Indirect Savings Tool (IST), Contract Lifecycle management (CLM).
In partnership with relevant stakeholders & Legal team, help prepare new contracts, variations/amendments (terms, pricing, scope, KPI etc.) and understand application of CLM.
Assist in Shopping Cart creation OR approval of Purchase Orders, ensuring proper documentations (Quote, SDS, eSign) are available before start of Purchase Requisition.
Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or Diploma in Procurement/Purchasing or Supply Chain.
3-5 years of Purchasing/Procurement experience or other related disciplines in Indirect/NPM goods & services.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and foundational background in the use of SAP.
Fluency – Bilingual in English & Japanese. (Make sure to mention your Japanese language proficiency in your resume)
