Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Solana Beach, California
Description
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of accounts payable processes, impeccable organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to the financial operations of a growing company.
Responsibilities:
Process and verify a high volume of invoices, ensuring proper coding and approval workflows according to company policies.
Prepare and execute payments, including checks, ACH transactions, and wire transfers, while maintaining accurate records.
Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Monitor vendor accounts to ensure payments are current and address any payment inquiries or disputes.
Assist with month-end closing processes by preparing AP reports and ensuring all invoices are accurately recorded.
Collaborate with internal departments to streamline AP procedures and improve efficiency.
Maintain compliance with internal controls and support various audits by providing requested documentation.
Requirements
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience also considered.
2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage vendor relationships professionally.
