Job Title: Diesel Technician
Job Description
This position is for a dedicated Diesel Technician. The primary responsibility will be performing preventive maintenance (PMs) on forklifts, tractor trailers, trucks, and similar vehicles. This includes tasks such as checking tires, adding oil, conducting inspections, adding brake fluid, and other maintenance activities on a larger scale than typical automotive services. Additionally, the role involves reactive maintenance tasks such as changing out brakes, addressing DOT failures, and replacing shocks.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance on forklifts, tractor trailers, trucks, etc.
Check and maintain tires, oil levels, brake fluid, and other essential components.
Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
Complete reactive maintenance tasks including brake replacements, addressing DOT failures, and changing shocks.
Read and interpret blueprints for mechanical repairs.
Utilize own tools for mechanical repair tasks.
Essential Skills
6 years of experience as a diesel technician
Proficiency in diagnostic techniques
Experience with aftermarket parts
Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks
Knowledge of diesel mechanics
Blueprint reading skills
Work Environment
The position is based in a maintenance shop within a distribution center. This is a first shift position with working hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
