Work Schedule: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Earn $2000/week-Special Pay Temporary Assignment!*

Utilizing the latest information technologies and telecommunication systems, we provide you with a variety of physical therapist experiences, ranging from caring for patients with medical/surgical needs as well as caring for patients with hospice and palliative care needs. In addition you would play an integral role in collaborating with other members of the patient care team. We offer paid time off that may be taken with Supervisor's prior approval. If you choose not to take paid time off, this time will be paid out to you prior to ending your temporary assignment as long as you work at least 90 days. You will be part of the weekend rotations.

You must be able to attend a two week long Orientation in our South Portland office. This orientation/training time will be paid as meeting time at $33/hour. Special temporary pay will begin the first full week following your two week long orientation and end at the completion of your temporary assignment.

Current PT license in Maine; CPR Card (Must be BLS Healthcare Provider); Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and agency required auto liability insurance. Ability to travel in assigned service area.

Candidates eligible for special temporary pay include: PTs who are new hires to Northern Light Health or Northern Light Home Care & Hospice; PTs who are not currently employed within Northern Light Health; PTS who have previously worked for Northern Light Health or Northern Light Home Care & Hospice and have not worked for Northern Light Health or Northern Light Home Care & Hospice for at least 90 days (first time rehire only)

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, prepares, or carries out individually designed programs of treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients.

  • Performs and documents an initial exam, evaluating data to identify problems and determine a therapy diagnosis prior to intervention while identifying and documenting goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.

  • Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.

  • Performs complete, accurate and timely documentation including billing within the electronic medical record.

  • Maintains and exhibits a current knowledge of profession and participates in continuing education.

  • Recommend changes in patients' work or living environments, consistent with their needs and capabilities.

  • Maintains a safe environment complying with NLH policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.

  • Provides clinical supervision for home health aides, students, and graduate PT/PTA.

  • Attends appropriate team meetings and communicates/collaborates with other team members, individuals, family members or caregivers.

  • Terminates treatment when maximal benefits have been attained as well as developing appropriate discharge plans.

  • Other Duties as assigned.

Other Information:

  • Current licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Maine

  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required to be obtained prior to independent visits.

  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and agency required auto liability insurance. Must be able to drive within assigned region as directed.
