The Fixed Asset Manager is responsible for managing the lifecycle of fixed assets / leases in the company, including acquisitions, tracking, maintenance, depreciation, and disposal. This role involves ensuring that all fixed assets are accurately recorded and aligned with company policies, tax and legal requirements. The Fixed Asset Manager works closely with the finance team, engineering, internal auditors, and other departments to ensure compliance with accounting principles and industry standards. What you will do Accounting Responsible for end-to-end Fixed Assets (CIP approval through retirement) and Lease Accounting process in close collaboration with business partners Analyze initial CIP projects to determine proper accounting treatment in accordance with capitalization policy and ASC 842. Prepare and record journal entries in GL systems and complete reconciliations. Perform periodic reviews and adjustments to asset values as necessary including impairment analysis and review of appropriate asset lives. Identify, present and implement solutions for process improvements, automation opportunities and enhanced area reporting capabilities within BNA and Lease Query. Compliance SOX compliance includes maintenance of SOX key controls related to fixed assets and leases and facilitating both internal and external audits ensuring complete, timely and accurate responses to requests. Develop appropriate fixed asset policies and procedures working closely with technical accounting and operations groups. Manage the annual fixed asset certification/physical inventory process. Tax Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations related to fixed assets and leases. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Strong understanding of critical financial business metrics; ability to develop and leverage data to quantitatively and analytically make business decisions and take smart risks. Able to think strategically and act tactically. Demonstrated ability to lead in a highly collaborative environment to influence change and core processes. What you will need To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following: Bachelor's degree in accounting required. 5+ years of relevant accounting experience Prior experience in the manufacturing environment required. CPA required. Strong accounting and analytical skills and a solid understanding of internal controls and GAAP required. Advanced proficiency using Excel required.
