+-----------------------------------+-----------------------------------+ | Under the direction of the | | | Generation Instrumentation Tech | | | II, this position carries out | | | specific job assignments and sees | | | to the maintenance and | | | installation of operational | | | technology network, automation | | | systems, instrumentation, and | | | SCADA, along with the operation | | | of municipal generation. | | +-----------------------------------+-----------------------------------+ | · Assist with installing, | | | maintaining, and repairing | | | instrumentation in substations | | | and generation facilities which | | | may include fiber optics and | | | Multiple Address Systems (MAS). | | | | | | · Maintain power department | | | servers, Programmable Logic | | | Controllers (PLC), firewalls, | | | routers, and network equipment. | | | | | | · Perform Supervisory | | | Control and Data Acquisition | | | (SCADA) installation, | | | programming, project layout, and | | | network terminal (NTU) | | | installation. | | | | | | · Assist with maintaining | | | and repairing of hydro electric | | | controls and programmable | | | equipment, as per Federal Energy | | | Regulatory Commission (FERC) | | | requirements. | | | | | | · Will be trained to operate | | | generators for the production of | | | power for the city. | | | | | | · Will be trained to monitor | | | municipal electrical systems and | | | the usage of electric power and | | | culinary water systems. | | | | | | · May assist in the | | | maintenance and repairs of | | | generation equipment. | | | | | | · Dispatch after-hours | | | electrical crews and equipment | | | via SCADA and the City radio | | | communications to restore | | | electric service. | | | | | | · Required to be on-call and | | | work a rotating shift. | | +-----------------------------------+-----------------------------------+ | All other duties as assigned. | | | | | | | | +-----------------------------------+-----------------------------------+ | · High school diploma | | | required. | | | | | | · Associate of Applied | | | Science (AAS) in Automation and | | | Electrical Technology is | | | preferred, or a similar degree. | | | | | | · Network, PLC Programing, | | | Protective Relay certifications | | | are a plus. | | | | | | · Must have at least two (2) | | | years of experience in | | | Instrumentation, computer | | | operating systems, networks, | | | communication protocols, and | | | electronics or any other related | | | field. | | | | | | · May be considered with | | | four (4) years of power industry | | | experience and the willingness to | | | enroll in formal training within | | | one (1) year of hire date. | | | | | | · Must have valid Utah | | | driver's license. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Must be able to solve problems in | | | stressful conditions. Must be | | | able to troubleshoot and repair | | | all types of communication | | | topologies, including wireless | | | and fiber communication system, | | | IP networks and copper | | | communication infrastructures. | | | Must be willing to expand their | | | knowledge by formal and informal |
