Responsibilities

Manages and oversees national pharmacy efforts related to inventory management, waste reduction and procurement optimization.

  • Develop and implement inventory control strategies to maintain optimal stock level in automated dispensing cabinets and central pharmacy to reduce shortages and waste

  • Implements programs, in partnership with local teams, to improve/achieve/monitor inventory performance and operational effectiveness

  • Supports execution of national strategies related to medication shortage stewardship in conjunction with Director, Medication Shortage Stewardship

  • Collaborate with local teams, The Resource Group and the 340B team to optimize procurement of medications

  • Support the operationalization of TAG initiatives

  • Develop and implement performance improvement activities to include medication safety, medication use evaluation and pharmacoeconomics.

  • Develop and manage departmental budget to promote pharmacoeconomics.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations. Also serve on various committees.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Pharmacist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.

Work Experience:

  • 3 years of experience required OR a graduate from an accredited Health System Pharmacy Administration residency program required.

Additional Preferences

  • 340B ACE or equivalent experience

  • Pharmacy management experience with a focus on inventory control and supply chain management

  • Proficient with Pyxis and BD Logistics

  • Experience leading initiatives across multiple facilities
