Job Description Summary

The Test technician will carry out the testing of HVDC & FACTS Products in line with project deliverables and support the Test engineers and Manufacturing Manager as required.

The candidate will have a good level of general education and communication skills and will have previously worked in a HV test environment.

In addition to relevant experience, an enquiring mind and desire to learn new skills are essential qualities.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Production routine testing of all HVDC & FACTS products.

  • Diagnostic down to component level for test failures.

  • Perform routine VAV process.

  • Support Maintenance, Calibration and Servicing of test equipment.

  • Support in test equipment upgrades and product changeovers.

  • Maintain daily safety checks and applicable documentation.

  • Comply with GE safety requirements.

  • To carry out duties as a PIC – Person in charge.

Skills and Experience Preferred:

  • EHS compliance and safe working practices.

  • Ability to deliver results, address and resolve technical issues.

  • Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing Test environment and knowledge of automated Manufacturing test equipment.

  • Technical Electrical qualification.

  • Knowledge of running test equipment up to 10KV or 2000A @ low voltage.

  • Knowledge of HVDC product testing would be advantageous.

  • Interaction with others and good at sharing knowledge.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Self-motivating, proactive and results driven approach.

  • Problem-solving and root cause identification skills.

  • Able to work to deadlines with good quality.

  • Proficient in the English language, written and verbal. Other languages are an advantage.
