About the Role
The Project Controller is responsible to support the program managers and engineering team by continually monitoring, analyzing, and reporting project status and variances. The Project Controller will act as an ambassador of sound business practices and modern business analytics approaches. The Project Controller is actively involved with the program managers to establish project schedules, budgets and forecast for capital, personnel, and non-personnel costs. Will play a critical role in understanding the manufacturing cost structure and will be the liaison between the manufacturing facility, the sales team, and the MFS corporate team. Responsible for developing and maintaining program specific financials. Additional responsibilities include profitability reporting & business planning.
Your Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of new processes, standards to support the Global Quoting Process from a financial perspective. Recommend / Identify improvements to the quote cost models and other finance tools. Ensure all costs are accurate and included in the cost model. Support Sales with contracts regarding fixed cost clauses, financial terms, and conditions, etc. Generate financial analysis and sensitivity analysis of projects. Provide the project team with financial advice. Analysis of business cases. Support Pre-operational cost tracking and reporting. Maintain product cost routings in the ERP system and ensure accuracy. Support the program team in generating cost breakdowns for the customer. Prepare financial information to support sales negotiation. Generate monthly/quarterly reports for SLT & MFS Group Office to enable right decisions. Support budget process. Support sales/operations with collection and presentation of data relating to commercial issues (volume shortfall claims, material pass thru agreements and capacity increases, etc). Participates in continuous improvement activities, submits improvement suggestions (CI, Safety). Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to including TS16949, ISO14001 (EMS), and Employee Handbook. Follows MIOSHA and MPTSH safety regulations and policies, including wearing required P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment). Reports unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Leader.
Who we are looking for
Your preferred qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Finance
5+ years of professional experience in related positions preferably within the automotive industry
Financial background preferred
