General Dynamics Land Systems System Test Engineer in Sterling Heights, Michigan
OVERVIEW The System Test Engineer will design, develop, and execute System regression test procedures for military ground vehicles. The primary focus is to support System regression testing for both internal and external system releases. Secondary focus is to support overall vehicle level system regression testing. The testing will be done using virtual and HW test environments up to, and including, testing on the vehicle. This is a Hybridposition within our Engineering organization. This role allows the employee to work offsite but also requires onsite work as needed.This position requires the employee to be onsite up to 80%. This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance).

RESPONSIBILITIES Developing testing plans/procedures. Carrying out system testing using both test benches and military vehicles. Creating reports on the system performance. Meeting with development managers to discuss system specifications and controls. Designing manual and automated test procedures to evaluate each system release. Reviewing system requirements and preparing test scenarios. Develop system evaluation tests that check system performance at boundary conditions and system performance/recovery during negative case testing. Executing tests on usability and stability. Analyzing test results on database impacts, errors or bugs, and usability. Preparing reports on all aspects related to the systems testing carried out and reporting to the design team. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, systems engineering, or electrical engineering. 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in systems test. This includes demonstrated work experience in debugging complex vehicle systems. Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems. Knowledgeable in one or more RT Linux operating systems. Ability to write complex System test procedures that include boundary condition and negative case testing. Knowledgeable in one or more system testing/system requirements suites. Knowledgeable is systems design and systems test. Ability to work occasional weekends, evenings and overtime is required. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience working on ground combat/automotive vehicles desired. This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles. Ability to work independently. Active member of one or more Agile development projects. Ability to travel nationally/internationally on occasion.
