Atlantic Health System Asst Mgr, Neurodiagnostics- Full Time, Days, 8AM-4PM, Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey
Full Time Assistant Manager for Neurodiagnostics at OMC. Exempt position 7a-3p or 8a-4p. Directly oversees day to day operations of the EEG and MEG department. Plans and coordinates onboarding of all new hires and oversees technologists' quality of work by providing ongoing education and feedback. Ensures department logs are maintained and supervises billing/coding.
Coordinates all functions of the day-to-day operations of the EEG and MEG Lab at Overlook Medical Center, including staffing, cross-training, rotations, per diem staffing, personnel recommendations, disciplinary actions, performance reviews, training, policy & procedure development, development & monitoring of performance improvement programs.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age-specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Maintains a professional demeanor and is a leader and role model for the Neurodiagnostic Team; represents the Neuroscience Service Line amongst the greater Atlantic Health System.
Performs appropriate and effective communication strategies with staff, team, and the leadership.
Provides patient care service in adherence with policies and procedures.
Assists the department's financial performance and productivity within fiscal parameters.
Assists in minimizing the risk and provides appropriate action to resolve issues
Ensures and reviews the relevant policies and procedures before performing complex skills.
Ensures and assists department/ organization quality standards.
Monitors and supervises technical staff to assure appropriate use and application of recording, monitoring, and treatment procedures.
Participates in direct patient care activities as necessary to keep department functioning in times of short staff, high volume, and other unanticipated patient care situations.
Works alongside the EEG Telemetry center in ensuring data acquisition and skin integrity for long-term monitoring studies.
Liaison with physicians and nursing staff on day-to-day clinical issues involving EEG staff and lab process/procedures.
Performs daily charge reconciliation for all Neurodiagnostic procedures
Daily oversight of Epic work queues including delegating any relevant actions (charge corrections, authorizations, and intraoperative neuromonitoring charges)
Daily supervision of employee time and attendance in API.
Oversees process of daily data reduction and archiving.
Coordinates with the leadership team to provide adequate coverage across campuses. Handles flex staffing for callouts, PTO, and volume fluctuations.
Maintains routine operational data collection including collecting volume and report turn-around time, auditing Key-Performance-Indicators, and reports from relevant EMRs (Epic, Natus). Utilizes collected data to maintain and develop department dashboards and performance improvement plans.
Handles equipment issues including following up with Clinical Engineering, Informatics and Natus.
Along with the Manager, oversees department engagement and ensures that proper engagement and employee influence on decision making is occurring.
Participates in operational and capital budget planning processes including monitoring volume and expenses in semi-real time for flex decision making.
Develops clinical guidelines and protocols following evidence-based best practices.
Participates on hospital committees and initiatives and represents Neuroscience leadership as required.
Assist in all Joint Commission efforts including routine department readiness evaluations and rounding to ensure department is meeting regulatory requirements.
Supports and participates in new site accreditation and certification processes.
Collaborates with other assistant managers and department manager to create and implement a training plan for technologists in all aspects of neurodiagnostic including EEG, video EEG/LTM, evoked potentials, MEG, and intraoperative monitoring (brain and spine).
Engages team members to continuously build customer satisfaction for patients, physicians, colleagues, the community, and other departments served. Engages staff in continually raising the bar in service excellence.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare related field.
2-4 years of experience in hospital EEG lab operations
R. EEG T. Registration/ CLTM Preferred
Experience working with Evoked Potential, WADA, and MEG Preferred.
Experience with Microsoft office programs such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, etc.
