DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Onsite Service Technician to join our team specializing in Services, Maintenance and Diagnostics for our Field Service Department in Tarkwa, Ghana.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :
Customer Engagement: By engaging customers courteously and professionally, you'll build strong relationships and ensure their needs are met promptly and efficiently.
Efficient Repairs: Using specialized tools and following documented procedures, you'll diagnose and complete less complex repairs, ensuring high-quality service.
Preventative Maintenance: Coaching customer employees on preventative maintenance and basic repairs will help them maintain their equipment better, reducing downtime.
Issue Escalation: By escalating unresolved issues to more experienced technicians or supervisors, you'll ensure that complex problems are addressed promptly.
Accurate Documentation: Completing required documentation accurately, such as service worksheets and warranty claims, will help maintain clear records and support business operations.
Continuous Learning: Completing training in line with skill and business requirements will keep you updated on the latest techniques and tools, enhancing your effectiveness.
Work Area Maintenance: Keeping your work area and tools clean and in proper operation will ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Health and Safety Compliance: Adhering to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies and reporting any issues will help maintain a safe workplace for everyone.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Strong Diagnostic Skills: Ability to translate customer complaints into troubleshooting plans, using specialized tools and software to isolate and repair failed components.
Proficiency with Electronic Service Tools: Knowledge of the hardware and software tools required for service events, and the ability to interpret their results to determine next steps.
Understanding of Engine Systems: Capability to analyze interactions of electrical and mechanical systems using tools and service publications to diagnose and repair efficiently.
Product Repair and Maintenance Expertise: Skills in repairing and maintaining mechanical/electrical products, following guidelines to ensure quality repairs and minimize customer costs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience
Apprentice Certified Power Generation or Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Current relevant electrical certification (optional)
Locally valid driving permit
Basic level field service work experience
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation or engine products
High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience (optional)
Customer service experience
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
