Fortive Corporation Resource Manager, Safety Services in Toronto, Ontario
As part of the Global Services Delivery team, the Resource Manage will be responsible for ensuring optimal staffing solutions to support our customer demand. This will require critical thinking and plenty of creative problem solving, as each staffing decision must be made in consideration of the business, project, and customer needs. The Resource Manager will be responsible for the standardization and continuous improvement of resource staffing processes, tools, and management reporting. Regular analysis of key performance metrics and recommendations on growth and learning paths will be required.
What you will do:
Lead resource management by establishing a clear and accurate view of demand and aligning to available delivery capacity
Work closely with Sales to understand incoming opportunities with respect to customer expectations, role requirements, skills, timelines and delivery budget
Provide support and recommendations to continuously improve resource management processes, tools and reports used at Intelex
Drive report generation and analysis of key performance metrics (such as resource demand and utilization forecast levels) to identify opportunities for resourcing optimizations, cost reductions, and optimized staffing solutions
Work with internal stakeholders to promote resource management best practices and explain how to use reporting data to drive decision making
Act as the primary point of contact for resource planning, ensuring clear communication channels across the wider business
Lead resourcing meetings and supporting business leaders to evaluate resourcing conflicts or opportunities/engagements with any other qualifying criteria
Ensure that all projects are staffed with the right people, at the right time and within allocated budget
Work closely with senior management to identify skills and experience levels in different teams, along with identify skill gap to be addressed
Provide reporting to senior management, including both short-term and long-term capacity planning
Key metrics:
Utilization rate
Billable vs non-billable hours
Resource forecasting
Forecast hours vs Actual hours
What you bring:
5 or more years of experience in a professional services environment either in a client facing, management, operations, or resource management role
Excellent attention to detail and high data accuracy
Strategic problem-solving, analytical, and the ability to understand the financial impact of relevant decisions
Effective communicator, as you'll need to convey expectations and feedback to team members clearly
Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and volume of requests
Strong relationship building and conflict resolution skills with experience engaging leaders at all levels and partnering effectively with internal teams
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Previous experience in standardizing resource management processes
