Full Time position: Hours 40 per week - Tuesday Saturday through the school year (Tues& Thurs 8:30 - 4, Wed & Fri 8-4,
Sat. 7:30-4:30 pm), During the summer months June August the hours change to Tuesday Friday 7am -5 pm.
Job Description
Supervises juveniles who have been court-ordered to perform community service and WISE. The principal duties are
performed in an outdoor environment which may involve working in adverse weather conditions year- round. The primary
responsibility is to ensure the safety of the youth and the public while facilitating the completion of work projects with a
high standard of performance.
Duties / Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(illustrative only and may vary by assignment)
Supervises juveniles fulfilling community service obligations ordered by a court and juveniles working WISE;
Maintains safety of youth and public at job site and in related activities;
Teaches good working habits and work skills; demonstrates strong work ethic to youth;
Checks in juveniles on assigned service days;
Develop and maintain community relations with key personnel, business contacts and community organizations
relating to work sites;
Ensures physical security check is performed on juveniles prior to leaving the office for a job and at the end of the
day for contraband items;
Transports juveniles to and from work site; issues tools and equipment; supervises work for safety, quality, and
completion; and ensures all tools and equipment are returned at end of shift;
Performs time management, meets deadlines, and follows project priorities;
Sends monthly WISE report to School District office; Sends Wise Completion Reports to Principals or Vice Principals
instead of School District Office and Wise completion Reports to School District Office when School District sends the
juvenile as needed;
Schedules school - referred WISE youth;
Schedules community service/restitution/volunteer hours as needed;
Maintains calendar of community service projects for client assignments;
Updates Magic to include number of hours worked daily, job site, and progress of juvenile working;
Keeps Probation Officers informed on client progress with regular, bi-monthly reports as requested;
Orders necessary cleaning supplies for the office each week, picks up supplies as needed;
Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate co-workers to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of
interdepartmental operations and activities.
Maintains strict confidentiality in all cases;
Assists other department and County employees as needed or requested.
Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with County policies, procedures, and safety practices.
Maintains transport van, trailer, and tools and equipment;
Keeps coolers, tools and other required supplies/equipment clean and in good repair. (gloves, snow shovels, rakes,
etc.)
Maintains inventory of supplies as required (garbage bags, ice melt, bug spray, sun screen, etc.);
Purchase equipment for community service/wise crew for use in Community Service projects as needed;
Works with the Restitution Coordinator to coordinate work hours for youth working restitution hours;
Performs other duties as assigned.

Responds to commissioners, elected officials, County employees and citizens questions and co mments in a
courteous and timely manner and under the direction of the supervisor;
Performs time management and scheduling functions, meets deadlines, and sets project priorities;
Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate co-workers to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of
interdepartmental operations and activities;
Maintains strict confidentiality in all cases;
Assists other department and County employees as needed or requested; and
Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with County policies, procedures, and safety practices.
