ABOUT THE ROLE
The Associate Estimator I TandD is responsible for various tasks in developing cost estimates for transmission, distribution and substation work. The Associate Estimator will be a part of our extensive training program to help develop these skills. Essential Functions * Prepare/assist in preparing complete cost estimates for assigned projects for transmission, distribution and substation projects * Understand and monitor program scope of work to ensure estimates are completed prior to deadlines * Schedule and attend field job walk with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel to determine constructability requirements * Perform/assist in performing take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation * May solicit material vendor pricing and subcontractor proposals including assembly and distribution of project documentation in to RFQ/RFP packages * Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency * Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stake holders * Assist construction personnel throughout the project lifecycle in tracking and understanding basis of cost estimate * May assist in the preparation and submission of change orders * Participate in job close-out meetings at the end of a project to close any loops in the estimating process * Regular and predictable attendance * Other duties as assigned * Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location * Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards ABOUT YOU
Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree * Experience with construction drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities * Proficient in Microsoft applications * Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills * Team player mentality WHAT WE OFFER
