Upstate Cerebral Palsy Nursing Supervisor in Utica, New York

Description

Pay $85,000 - $95,000 annually

The Nursing Supervisor for the Supportive Crisis Stabilization Center (SCSC) is part of the interdisciplinary treatment team. The SCSC RN Supervisor position is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality physical health services within our crisis continuum. Effectively integrated with all aspects of crisis services, promoting a wholistic approach to patient care. The position will function as a member of the integrated leadership team and support the long-term planning and sustainability of a model of care that prioritizes whole-person wellness.

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing and care coordination team.

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality care in alignment with the center's mission and goals.

  • Collaborate with other members of the integrated leadership team to develop/implement strategies that enhance the integration of physical and behavioral health services.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.

  • Provide routine supervision and support to nursing and care coordination staff.

  • Participate as a member of the center's crisis response team.

  • Ensure that staff adhere to best practices and maintain the highest standards of patient care.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of medical protocols, policies, and procedures.

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of healthcare professionals, including RNs and care coordination staff.

  • Support the administrative and workflow needs of the on-call medical team.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing feedback, coaching, and development opportunities for staff.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes professional growth and team cohesion.

  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, making data-driven decisions to improve service delivery.

  • Oversee the procurement of medical supplies and equipment necessary for program operations.

  • Ensure effective coordination of care for patients, including referrals to external providers as necessary.

  • Work closely with clinical team to create integrated care plans that address the physical and mental health needs of patients.

  • Advocate for patients within the healthcare system, ensuring access to necessary services and resources.

  • Foster a patient-centered physical health department by setting care goals, educating patients and their families, and promoting self-care skills while ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant environment.

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies, ensuring availability, safety, and efficient resource management, while maintaining accurate patient care documentation.

  • Provides supervision to student interns, as assigned.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional conferences.

  • Adhere to mandatory reporting requirements and HIPAA laws.

  • Participate in activities as part of the treatment team that may include meetings, trainings, and committees.

  • Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.

  • Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Agency’s culture, values and mission.

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted RN license is required.

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration from an accredited institution, or a related field is preferred.

  • 5 years' experience to include prior experience in a supervisory/leadership role is preferred.

  • Prior experience in a behavioral health or community health setting is preferred.

  • Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License.
