LSI Solutions Engineering Technician - Days 8am to 5pm in Victor, New York

POSITION TITLE: Engineering Technician I, II, Sr
SHIFT HOURS: 8:00am to 5:00pm
LOCATION: Onsite at LSI Solutions in Victor, NY
HOURLY PAY RANGE: $28.00hr to $32.00hr
JOB SUMMARY: Supports Engineering and Production groups in the execution of testing, prototype builds, fixture design, and provide feedback from those efforts. Senior Engineering Technician provides functional expertise to junior technicians.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Engineering Technician I, II
• Support new product development teams in the execution of testing, prototype builds, and provide feedback from those efforts.
• Analyze and report test results, including teardown documentation and root cause determination.
• Execute construction and assembly of prototypes and test fixtures.
• Execute test protocols as directed.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in product, process, and validation activities.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and determine root cause in product and process performance.
• Maintain calibration and equipment functionality through preventive maintenance (PM) and measurement systems analysis (MSA) activities.
• Communicate issues, improvements, and project status to engineering and discovery teams.
Senior Engineering Technician
• All essential functions listed above.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the Technician team, leading in execution of best practices.
• Lead implementation of major projects and initiatives.
• Provide guidance in the design of test fixtures and systems.
• Provide guidance in development of test protocols.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in training Production staff.
• Draft and release work instructions for manufacturing and/or validation functions.
• Fabricate or modify components, fixtures, and equipment, as necessary.
• All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Engineering Technician I
• High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree preferred.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience in medical device or other regulated industry preferred.
Engineering Technician l, II
• Associates degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 4-6 years of relevant experience required; medical device or other regulated industry experience preferred.
Senior Engineering Technician
• Associates degree or higher preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Trade certificate or equivalent advanced training required.
• 7 or more years of related experience required; medical device or other regulated industry experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Engineering Technician I
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
Engineering Technician II
• All knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.
• 2D and 3D CAD familiarity.
• Working knowledge of fabrication processes and operation of machine tools, such as surface grinders, wire EDM, tool room lathe, and milling machine.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Basic GD&T, print and electrical diagram reading skills.
• Working knowledge of measurement equipment and processes.
Senior Engineering Technician
• All knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.
• 2D and 3D CAD proficiency, Autodesk Inventor experience preferred.
• Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot/root cause mechanical issues, provide feedback and recommendations.
• Knowledge of Advanced Manufacturing equipment such as Machine Vision, PLC, and Robotics.
