Title and Summary

Lead Technical Program Manager

Overview:

Primary responsibilities include overall accountability and leadership for a complex IT projects successful and timely implementation as well as satisfying the intended business results. Core responsibility for managing relationships and communicating with the program sponsor, senior management and a wide range of program contributors. Identifies key barriers to a project’s success and actively manages all mitigation activities. Implementation and support of solutions and alternatives to meet business requirements; in adherence with MasterCard standards, processes and best practices. Proactively manages the end-to-end delivery of engineering work though the engineering team and all dependent organizations.

Role:

•Provide leadership and oversight on various initiatives of complex nature. Responsible for planning, developing, and executing schedules to ensure timely completion of initiative deadlines and milestones

•Ensure methodology compliance and manage resolutions, reporting to management when necessary

•Advanced knowledge of project management or software releases

•Ensure timely and accurate communication with the program staff throughout the life cycle of the initiative.

•Monitor and manage the initiative budget. Must be familiar with the system’s scope and initiative objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the teams. Identify and monitor initiative risks.

•Regularly communicates to senior management regarding the status of specific initiative deliverables

•Provide measurable input into new products, processes, standards or plans in support of the business

•Effectively lead the initiative team to align with the business objectives, schedule, and budget

•Ability to organize, track and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks based on business needs

•Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels - and manage their resolution

•Regularly review metrics and proactively ensure the program stays aligned with organization objectives

•Effectively deal with difficult situations. Help develop solutions to complex problems

All About You/ Experience:

•Advanced knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the areas of strategy, planning and project management required processes and techniques

•8 to 10 years of experience with structured methodology and project planning tools

•Knowledge of Mastercard or the payments industry preferred

•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience

•PMP certification preferred

•Listening, oral, written and presentation skills and effective interpersonal skills

•Organizational and planning and multi-tasking skills

•Strong leadership, interpersonal, relationship-building and negotiation skills required with a solid track record for developing internal and external relationships

•Demonstrate ethics and values to generate high team trust
