Robert Half Systems Administrator in Washington, District Of Columbia
Description We are on the lookout for a skilled Systems Administrator within the Healthcare/NHS industry, based in Washington, District of Columbia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing in-house software systems and network connections, ensuring high levels of availability and security for business applications. This role also involves participating in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures for consistent system provisioning and maintenance in line with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure accurate management of all operating systems and end-user software
• Handle communications and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, and company web and intranet applications
• Oversee end user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in compliance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
• Provide technical assistance and support for incoming requests and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware
• Conduct and test routine system backups and restores
• Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers, input/output fleet, and workstations, escalating incidents as necessary
• Manage network asset including maintenance of network component inventory, related documentation, and technical specifications information
• Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance
• Recommend and execute software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases
• Respond promptly to queries in person, over the phone, or via email
• Monitor Service Manager for tickets assigned to the queue and process according to IT Helpdesk priority policy
• Troubleshoot computer equipment, printers, and peripherals
• Perform other assigned duties as necessary. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator, preferably in the Healthcare/NHS sector.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Firewall Technologies for the purpose of ensuring the security and integrity of systems.
• Proficient in using Active Directory to manage network resources effectively.
• Expertise in Backup Technologies to ensure data safety and recovery.
• Solid understanding of Computer Hardware for troubleshooting and system optimization.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 Enterprise for managing and deploying business applications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Intune for mobile device and app management.
• Experience with Microsoft SharePoint for managing and sharing documents and web services. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
