Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Job Description
The Quality Assurance Technician understands, advocates, and assists in maintaining the QMS performance and compliance to applicable certification standards. This role provides and assures clear, concise communication between all departments, staff, and customers on matters of quality performance, requirements, product acceptance, and related documentation. The technician assures the detail of the facts and that documentation is established and recorded appropriately when a quality problem arises, immediately taking steps to correct documentation, sort or contain stock appropriately if possible. Additionally, the technician ensures all documentation from shop floor activities are fed back to appropriate departments or achieved as per requirement(s) and maintains department logs and documentation to support QMS procedures.
Responsibilities
Maintain the QMS performance and compliance to applicable certification standards.
Provide clear, concise communication between all departments, staff, and customers regarding quality performance, requirements, product acceptance, and related documentation.
Establish and record appropriate documentation when a quality problem arises and take immediate steps to correct it.
Ensure all documentation from shop floor activities is fed back to appropriate departments or achieved as per requirement(s).
Maintain department logs and documentation to support QMS procedures.
Ensure accuracy in preparation and reporting of destructive lab testing activities.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience as a quality assurance technician
Ability to read customer specifications
Working towards certified CQE (Certification of Quality Engineering)
Experience with ISO 9001
Proficiency in quality audits, quality assurance inspection, and quality assurance standards
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Automotive industry experience
Certified Quality Engineer

Work Environment
The work environment involves automotive manufacturing, specifically the production of stainless steel tubing required for bus frames, exhaust pipes, air bags, and tubing. You will work in teams of 3-5 in a very social environment, always collaborating with at least one other person.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WATERLOO, Ontario.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
