Job Summary:
The Corporate Accountant role will be an integral part of the Accounting team, contributing significantly to the daily operations of Hartford Funds Finance. The Accountant will handle various analytical and administrative tasks related to the Concur expense system, corporate card program, and routine activities involving accounts payable invoice and payment processing.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage payments in accordance with contractual terms with Hartford Funds vendors and investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices.
Manage the Concur expense system for processing Hartford Funds travel expense reports in accordance with company policies and prepare analytical reports for management.
Prepare detailed monthly/quarterly reporting related to payments made to distribution partners for internal consumption.
Work closely with the Finance team to ensure that invoices are within the Firm’s budget and are properly reflected within the P&L.
Develop and maintain standardized processes and recommend changes to Accounts Payable policies and procedures to streamline processes and enhance automation.
Receive, research and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status and communicate the resolution of discrepancies.
Manage the corporate cards for Hartford Funds, working with cardholders to solve problems, open new cards, close cards. Create reports for management as needed.
Work on special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements/Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
3+ years of accounting with accounts payable experience preferred. Asset management experience highly preferred.
Strong Excel experience (pivot tables, VLOOKUP's) required
Strong organization, analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Results oriented, accountable, motivated and flexible.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to articulate information to all levels of the organization.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$60,000 - $85,000
