__Requirements: Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Experience: Previous experience as an optician in a healthcare setting is preferred. Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or similar environment is a plus. Job Functions: Patient Care: Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their vision needs, preferences, and budget. Provide detailed explanations of lens options, frames, and eyewear maintenance. Fitting and Dispensing: Accurately measure and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses. Ensure proper alignment, adjustments, and repairs to ensure optimal comfort and function. Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the optical process. Inventory Management: Manage and maintain optical inventory, including ordering, stocking, and tracking of frames and lenses. Ensure all products meet quality and safety standards. Collaboration: Work closely with the clinic optometrist to support comprehensive eye care. Assist in patient education regarding eye health, corrective lenses, and preventive care. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate patient records, including prescription information and eyewear orders. Ensure compliance with health center policies and regulations. General office duties (phone, fax, insurance verification, etc). Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends, advancements in optical technology, and best practices. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
